Flexible Hybrid Chassis which has high strength laser cut steel, interlocked together, welded then hot-dipped galvanised as the longitudinal chassis core. The lateral body supporting sub-frames are all alloy rectanguar sections. The fastening of the alloy subframe and the chassis core is done with 2 piece rivets.

Air suspension with individual air bags at each trailing arm with a pressure dependent spring rate. Reducing the ride height on long trips reduces fuel consumption and increases stability while towing.

Air suspension with individual air bags at each trailing arm with both a pressure dependent spring rate AND a position dependent spring rate built into the alloy shape of the air piston. Reducing the ride height on long trips reduces fuel consumption and increases stability while towing.

Premium air springs on off road caravan

The bottom air-spring is the standard 3 piece polyurethane with pressure dependent spring rate.

The top air-spring is a 2 piece polished alloy pressure and position variable spring rate. As the airbag descends over the bottom piston, the increase in diameter towards the bottom increases the spring rate. This design is perfect for corrugations with a low spring rate while the unit skims over the top but a deep spring rate in the event of deep pot holes. The upper mount material and piston are all polished alloy.

Automatic ride height control for dual (tandem) axle using individual wheel position sensors. The tandem set is levelled and balanced with individual wheel pressure so that when the set is raised and lowered, the front air bags take slightly more weight to match to exact draw bar weight with the vehicle. The result is a perfectly level profile which raises and lowers to 3 pre-set point. Position can be matched to vehicle ride height.

Anti-sway bars. These are essential with air-suspension as at low air pressures, roll would otherwise occur. There is a selection of 2 different torsion bar sizes formed to match the independent suspension trailing arms.

They can be disconnected in off road applications very easiliy if required.

Recovery Chassis Points
These have to be capable of a rear recovery of the off-road camper trailer or caravan AND the vehicle.
We estimate this at 6,000 kgs pulling force.
You will be surprised that this may only be needed once per trip but is absolutely essential off road!

Dual-tube shock absorbers which are the same style commonly found on vehicles.

PU bushing is used for mounting.

Mono-tube shock absorbers have a far higher heat dissipation rate and use high temperature synthetic oil. These are found on high performance desert racing vehicles.

Stainless steel busing is used for mounting.

Electric 'drum' brakes. These use a magnet intrgated in the wheel drum that activates the brake shoes with a signal from the vehicle.

This is the most common braking system in caravans and camper trailers in Australia.

Electronic Disc brakes. These are activated hydraulicly in the same way as most vehicles. The hydraulic system is engaged with the same signal from the vehicle. The system allows for precise control and a one-touch parking brake.

The weight of the Disc system is less than half the electric drum equivalent. This is crucial to reduce the unsprung weight on the wheels.

Deflecta-Shield Stone Protection. A large 5mm steel plate is positioned for stone shielding by deflecting under-chassis gibbers and rocks back down to the ground forward of the trailing arms.

Exterior off road stone protectio is not complete without a serious chassis based deflector underneath.

Drawbar Extension for revolutionary reverse turning. Extending the "drawbar" with a high strength engineered extension increases the distance to the vehicle. In many cases this will allow for a sharp reversing angle up to 90 degrees.
